Child Education

Help make street children
grow into useful Indian citizens

In India approximately 60% children unfortunately remain uneducated for lack of proper amenities. In their childhood such children have nothing to aspire for except to wander aimlessly resulting into their remaining illiterate and thus falling into bad company.

These children are the future of the Nation and certainly deserve better opportunities to become useful citizens. To provide them suitable education. It is the duty of all to help the unfortunate children to obtain proper education.

Appalled at the sight of such street children, wandering aimlessly around our temple campus, in quest of eatables offered as ‘Prasad' to the deity, it occurred to us that these children needed an opportunity to be educated along with some incentives to motivate them to do so.

With this object in view, the society commenced a school, in April 2004, in the 3 small rooms available in its premises. Soon the number of students seeking admission to pre-nursery, nursery and K G classes reached 80. This number has since reached 140 plus, with one more room having been added to the existing structure.

Besides education, these children are provided summer & winter uniforms, shoes, reading & writing material, mid-day meal and medical care. The aim is to provide to them free holistic care comprising basic health care, nutrition along with education.

To provide an opportunity of education to a larger number of street children, we have now taken up a project for the construction of a school building, the foundation stone of which has been laid by His Excellency Dr A R Kidwai, Hon'ble Governor of Haryana, on 12 December 2004 . The school building would consist of 18 classrooms and ancillaries covering an area of about 15000 sq. ft. The estimated cost of the project, as worked out by the Architects, will amount to INR 75,00,000.
